Barriers to Treatment for Microcurrent Treatments

Conditions Which Prevent Treatment

  • Contagious skin diseases.
  • Dysfunctions of the nervous system; Eg; Multiple Sclerosis/Nerve Injury.
  • Recent scar tissue.
  • Undiagnosed lumps and bumps.
  • Cancer treatment.
  • Pregnancy.
  • Epilepsy.
  • Pacemaker.
  • Uncontrolled diabetes.
  • History of Thrombosis/Embolism.

Conditions Which Require Discussion

  • Undergoing medical treatment.
  • Medications: Retin A for Acne; 3-6 months after completing course.
  • Medications: Roaccutane for Acne; 12-18 months after completing course.
  • Medications: Anti-Depressants; Variable results due to muscle relaxants in the medication.
  • Under/Overactive Thyroid; (GP Note Required)
  • High/Low blood pressure; Variable results.
  • Micropigmentation.
  • Botox; 3 months after last botox injection.
  • Fillers; Avoid area in first two weeks. Full treatement more than 2 weeks after fillers.
  • Metal Pins/Plates.
  • Medication.
  • Piercings.
  • Anxiety.
  • Cuts and Abrasions.
  • Controlled Diabetes. Diet and Exercise controlled is ok. For those who are insulin dependent, a GP note will be required and a sensitivity test will be carried out.
  • Bruises.
  • Recent Dermabrasion or Chemical Peels.
  • IPL/Laser and Epilation.
  • Heart Disorder/Disease. (GP Note Required)
  • Medication causing Thinning or Inflammation of the Skin.
  • Tumours. (GP Note Required)
  • Severe Muscular Conditions; Eg; Muscular Dystrophy (GP Note Required)
